News Story: Parent-teacher Conference

A one to one parent-teacher conference was conducted at NEPS to foster open and constrictive communication between parents and teachers to better understand a student’s progress, address concerns, and collaborate on strategies to support the child’s academic and social-emotional growth.

The one to one meeting helps to know students’ weakness and strength so that parents and teachers work on the areas need to be improved. It also gives parents, teachers and school management to discuss every important matter on the school academic issues and others related matters.

News Story: Culture Day

Culture day was celebrated at NEPS to promote awareness and understanding of different Ethiopian cultures within students, fostering respect, tolerance, and appreciation for cultural diversity by showcasing traditions, heritage, and practices from various backgrounds, ultimately aiming to bridge cultural gaps and build inclusivity.

In addition, students learn about the clothing, different kinds of food, language, and dancing styles of different ethnic groups and learn to share and eat together by bringing different foods.

The main objective of celebrating “When I Was a Baby Day” at NEPS is usually to help children reflect on their early life and understand growth, change, and family love. Here is a more detailed breakdown of the objectives:

• To encourage children to share stories, photos, and memories from their early childhood
• To promote emotional bonding between children and their parents or caregivers

News Story: Partnership with International Community School - Addis Ababa


As of June 18th 2019, the New English Private School (NEPS) and the International Community School - Addis Ababa (ICS Addis) have entered into a partnership.

Seble Genet, Professional Learning Coordinator at ICS Addis explains, "Our partnership with NEPS started around mid-2018 and has so far been tremendously successful for NEPS and ICS."

Director of the school at NEPS shares, "Teachers now, more than before, work together, plan together, solve problems together, and share ideas together, build together and share strategies together. They have established a strong work bond."
